Australia Beat India By Five Wickets In First ODI Australia Led The 5-Match Series 1-0
Perth: Australia and India played first One Day International match in which host team showed fantastic performance and won the contest by five wickets with great batting of Captain Steve Smith.
According to a news report, in those days, Indian cricket team stayed in Australia for the purpose of playing a long series in captaincy of Mahindra Singh Dhoni. First ODI match played at famous Perth ground in which host team easily won by five wickets.

When Australian team starts batting, opener David Warner and Aaron Finch bowled on just total of 21 runs after that senior batsman George Bailey took batting responsibility along with Captain Steve Smith and both were made fantastic hundreds and gave record partnership of 242 runs.
After completing his big century Bailey departed on 112 runs and next all rounder Glenn Maxwell also bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin on just 6 runs but Australian Captain also played very well and began his batting at the end of that match by making not out 149 runs.
Kangaroos lead the five match series by 1-0 over India, captain of guest team Dhoni said that we have good position but big partnership of Smith and Bailey put us on back foot so, at the end result occurred in shape of defeat.
