Iraq Army, Kurdish Forces Launch Fresh Offensive Against ISIS To Recapture Mosul


Top Iraqi army elite unit and Kurdish fighters have mounted fresh offensive on Thursday against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militants to recapture surrounding territory of Mosul where ISIS militants have last stronghold on second biggest city.


The Iraq government has gained a strong support from Kurdish fighters as well as US led coalition and airstrikes aided a lot to recapture the second biggest city of Iraq where Islamic State of Iraq and Syria had put their stronghold to launch restrictions and rules according to Shariah.

The assault was carried out by Iraqi government with support of multiple fighter forces to clear surrounding villages of city to close ISIS hold circle.

The fresh offensive is the biggest operation of Iraqi army elite forces since United States Forces had achieved in 2011. The combine countries forces pushing towards Islamic State of Iraq and Syria hold faster than we thought and programmed according to Prime Minister of Iraq, Haider al-Abadi.

The senior officials met in Pairs and discussed via video conference call to give their point of view about the future of Iraq’s second largest city Mosul.

A rough estimate of 30,000 top army elite troops from Iraq Army and Peshmerga is expectedly taking part in the record breaking biggest battle to drive 4,000 to 8,000 Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militants from Iraq’s second largest city Mosul.

According to a report, France, Britain, Italy, Canada and other western countries has supported Iraq’s government by air or ground as well to recapture area.

Kurdish forces reported from northern end, they downed a drone of Islamic state of Iraq and Syria in Nawaran village but yet the matter not clear either drone was carrying some explosive material or just surveying the area.
