Shahid Afridi Quits As Captain Of Pakistan T20 Team; Continue Cricket As A Player


The legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi relinquished the captaincy of shortest format of game because of the disappointing performance in ICC world cup T20.


The famous cricketer Shahid Afridi known by nick name Lala and Boom Boom Afridi on Sunday in a press release in Karachi announced his decision about to step down the captaincy of T20 format because of the poor performance from the players.

He thanked his all cricket fans of Pakistan and all over the globe to give him so much love and gratitude, he also said it was a great honor for me that i performed all the three formats of cricket and tried best to give their best performance.

The all rounder cricketer announced that he retired from the captaincy of T20 but he started playing as a player in the shortest format. On 3rd March the swashbuckling batsman stated that

‘Today I wish to inform my fans of Pakistan and present in all over the world that I am relinquishing the twenty twenty format captaincy of Pakistan team on my own volition.’

‘On this day, I thank to Allah (SWT) for his kindness and mercy which enabled me to discharge my leadership duties, to the best of my abilities, for the sake of honor and prestige of my Motherland.’

‘For me it was a great honor to lead my country in all three formats of the game, My profound thanks to PCB and its chairman Mr. Shehryar khan Sahb who gave me the honor to lead the national team.’

‘I would also like to inform that In Sha Allah I intend to continue the game for my country and league cricket etc, I requested my fans kindly keep praying and supporting me for my best future performance for Pakistan as a player of the team as well as the other arenas of the game world over.’
